Fiat Owned Jeep Introduce 3 SUVs at 2016 Auto Expo

Fiat owned American company Jeep has made its way to the Indian automobile market with three SUVs at the ongoing Auto Expo 2016. These include Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. As per the reports available, all three will be launched in the second half of this year via CBU (Completely Built Up) route.
 
Starting with Jeep Cherokee SRT, it is going to be available in two variants – Limited and Summit. Both will be offered with same engine options – 3.0-litre that belts out 240 bhp of power and 570 Nm of torque.

“Our aggressive expansion in international markets is one of the key drivers behind our current global sales momentum,” said Mike Manley, Head of Jeep Brand, FCA, and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Asia Pacific (APAC) Regional Operations Group. Speaking on the occasion “Last year, we started local production in Brazil and China, and today, we are launching the Jeep brand in the fifth largest market in the world, India, setting the foundation for our future growth in this country.”

Now talking about the Jeep Cherokee SRT that will be tipped out with a 6.4-litre HEMI V8 engine that produces 475 bhp of power across all the four wheel, via Quadra-Trac Active on demand 4WD and 644 Nm of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission will be mated to the engine. In terms of features, this will be loaded with 8.4-inch touch screen display and 19-speaker sound system.

At last the tough off road car, Jeep Wrangler Unlimited expected to come with 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine that churns out 275 bhp of power and 359 Nm of torque. Apart from this, a diesel engine would also be offered with 2.8-litre, which is good for 197 bhp of power and 451 Nm of torque.
