After the launch of Ford Endeavour 2019, the carmaker is planning to launch the facelift version of Ford Figo which is expected to debut in March this year. It seems that the Ford Figo 2019 will come with cosmetic updates and mechanical changes in comparison to the current model.
From the exterior front, the refreshed version of Ford Figo will be having new bumpers on the front and rear side, twisted headlights, newly designed alloy wheels and a honeycomb front grille. All these features we have previously seen on Freestyle cross-hatch and refreshed Ford Aspire. The cabin of Figo facelift will resemble with the newly launched Aspire.
The Ford Figo 2019 is likely to come with Ford’s Sync3 infotainment system that has a touch screen panel. The touch screen infotainment system is to be compatible with smart connectivity options like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Inside the cabin, the new facelift will be having a new upholstery as well as an automatic climate control system and steering-mounted controls.
For the safety purpose, the Figo facelift is expected to come with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist and hill-start assist.
To follow the safety norms that will be implemented from July 1, 2019, Ford will offer speed alert system, seat belt reminders and rear parking sensors in its all ranges of cars and also in Ford Figo 2019.
The engine of Ford Figo 2019 will be similar to the refreshed Aspire. It will get a 1.2-litre petrol engine that is taken from Ford’s Dragon series of engines that delivers 96hp of power and 120 Nm of torque. While the 1.5-litre diesel engine churns out 100hp of power and 215 Nm of torque. Both the diesel and petrol engine options will be mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
It is being speculated that Ford might also offer 1.5-litre petrol engine in the upcoming Figo 2019 which is likely to be matted with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox only.
The Figo facelift is likely to be expensive than the current model which we have seen in Aspire and Endeavour facelifts.
The entry-level Ford Figo was launched in India in 2015. Without any mechanical upgrades and changes, the sales figures of hatchback continuously declining. After the launch of the facelift Figo, hopefully, the sales issue of Ford would resolve. It looks like the upcoming Figo car will compete against the likes of e Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Hyundai Grand i10.
