The legendary American motorcycle brand, Harley Davidson is all geared to roll out 2019 Forty-Eight Special and Street Glide Special models in India on coming 14th of March. These are the special edition models of the standard variants available in the Indian market. The former caters Sportster segment while the later serves the touring family of Harley Davidson.
As compared to the standard variant which gets chrome work, the Street Glide Special, on the other hand, is a blacked out trim. The components here like handlebar, suspension, engine, exhaust and alloy wheels are finished in black colour. The Forty-Eight Special on the other hand only differentiates from standard model at ape-hanger handlebar and stylish ‘Throwback 70’s’ graphics on the fuel tank.
In terms of power, the Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight Special is loaded with a 1,202cc, twin-cylinder, air-cooled engine. In integration with a five-speed gearbox, the engine makes out the maximum power of 60bhp and the peak torque of 90Nm. On the other side, the Street Glide Special is powered by a 1,745cc, twin-cylinder, air-cooled motor that is rated to churn out 65bhp and 150Nm via a mated six-speed gearbox.
The tourer Street Glide special is blessed with features like a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, GPS navigation, voice recognition system and support for telecom.
The Harley Davidson is asking for the price tag of INR 31.91 lakh for the outgoing Street Glide Special. While the model updated for 2019 calendar year will receive a minimal price hike. The Forty-Eight standard variant is priced at INR 11.04 lakhs and we expect the Special version of the same will attract the similar price tag considering the pricing for the US markets.
