India’s largest electric vehicles maker, Hero Electric has launched two new scooters namely the Optima ER and the Nyx ER. In their nomenclature, the ER stands for Extended Range. The Optima ER can travel 110kms in a single charge while with the Nyx ER, one can go 100kms only. The pricing for the scooters is INR 68,721 and INR 69,754 respectively.
The Hero Electric Optima Plus is packed with features such as LED bulb, Digital Speedo, Anti Theft System, Mobile Charging, Telescopic front suspension, Regenerative braking and much more. While the Nyx ER misses out few attributes as compared to the Optima ER likewise anti-theft, mobile charging, aerodynamic style and others.
Both the scooters are powered by a lithium-ion battery which can produce the top speed of 42km/h and make the scooter reaching 0-20kmph in just 8 seconds. The Optima ER weighs 83kgs on the weighing scale while the Hero Electric NYX tips at 87kgs. The company provides a warranty of 3 years for both the battery and the scooter.

At the launch of these two new scooters, Sohinder Gill, CEO, Hero Electric India said, “We want to offer the best of Hero Electric products to all our customers. One feedback that we have constantly received was the range anxiety associated with e-scooters, and with the Nyx ER and Optima ER we are addressing that issue and offering a package that is high on performance and usability. I am confident that customers will appreciate these additions alongside the FAME II benefits that have made our range even more affordable.
