Globally, the demand for Hero bikes is increasing day by day. As a result, the company has set up its manufacturing plant in Villa Rica located at Colombia. The company has a total of 5 plants, out of which four are located in India. This location will act as an export hub for the company, from where motorcycles will be exported to the North and Central American markets.

Hero has invested a total amount of $70 million (approx. Rs. 465 crores) out of which, $38 million has been set apart for capital expenditure, while the remaining will be assigned for working capital. The company has taken over 17 acres of land at the Parque Sur free trade zone at Villa Rica. In First phase, the carmakers will build 80,000 units per year, which will later be extended to 1,50,000 units per annum in the next phase. This new plant will provide employment opportunity to 2200 people.

Out of total variants, Hero MotoCorp will sell only 10 models in the beginning. This lineup includes the likes of Splendor iSmart, Super Splendor, Eco Deluxe and Passion Pro 100cc commuters, 125cc Glamour, Super Splendor and the 150cc Thriller and Thriller Sports (Xtreme in India). The company will also manufacture one super bike i.e Karizma ZMR 225c.
At this inauguration event, the MotorCorp also launched the Dash scooter for global market. This Scooter will be available for Indian buyers as well. In Colombia, Honda is the first two wheeler company in which, all the models will be available with a 4 year warranty.
