As per the earlier surfaced reports in December 2018, a full fairing motorcycle that’s claimed to be based on the newly launched Xtreme 200R was under development at the Hero’s stable. Anyway, the next-gen Karizma has also been the talk of the town from a long-ago albeit no confirm information about the motorcycle come to the frame till now. Whereas, a lately uploaded video on Instagram is hinting a new motorcycle. The development of an all-around platform was the desire of the Hero MotoCorp. Based on the same, the company has built three products namely the Xtreme 200R, the Xpulse 200 and the Xpulse 200T. While the others are expected to arrive soon.
Hero Karizma ZMR bike was the last full fairing motorcycle in the brand’s lineup. In 2014, the motorcycle witnessed the last update in the form of the EBR-derived design theme which was criticized a lot from the biking enthusiasts and the experts. Now there are fewer chances that Hero will revive the Karizma name for this upcoming sports tourer. Whether the details from the spied images is not clear still we believe that this full fairing motorcycle will rest on the same chassis underpinned on the Hero Xtreme 200R bike. Not even this, the upcoming sports tourer is more likely to be blessed with the features of the latter.
There was a single-piece flat handlebar on the spied mule, instead of clip-on which was offered with the Karizma ZMR. Nonetheless, the all-digital instrument cluster was the same unit observed on the Xpulse 200. If the powertrain is considered, it would be the same 199.6cc single cylinder mill seen on the Xtreme 200R. But, we could see the introduction of fuel injection due to two reasons.

First, the company wants to roll out the next lot of products to comply with the upcoming BS VI emission norms. Secondly, the motorcycle will be tuned as of the race machines which as the company thinks can be attained via fuel injection. Furthermore, the gearbox will be the same 5-speed constant mesh unit from the Xtreme model but with different drive ratios as expected.
In terms of pricing, Hero is acknowledged to launch their bikes at competitive pricing. We anticipate the same with this upcoming as it could be tagged with price sticker under INR 1.2 lakh, ex-showroom. The aggressive price tag will aid in posing the bike firmly against its rivals such as the Yamaha YZF-R15 v3.0 and the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200.
