Finally the wait is over, Hero Motocorp has launched the much awaited Splendor iSmart 110 in New Delhi. The 2016 iteration of Splendor iSmart will be sold at the price tag of INR 53,300 (ex-showroom price), which is slightly higher than the older iSmart 100cc. Debuted at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, the bike has been indigenously designed and developed at its CIT Centre located in Jaipur.
Renowned for providing best mileage figure, this new iSmart will also be equipped with the Hero’s patented i3S (Idle Start and Stop System) technology for reducing fuel consumption. The iSmart system shuts the engine off whenever bike gets engaged to neutral and goes ideal for five seconds, the depress of the clutch automatically starts the engine that eventually improves the fuel efficiency of the motorcycle and makes the Splendor iSmart 110, top most fuel efficient commuter offering in the country. However, the company claims the new motorcycle will return over 80 kmpl.
On mechanicals, as the name suggests, the commuter is packed with a 110cc displacement, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor which is capable to deliver power of 9.1PS and torque of 9Nm. The automaker claims that it returns 9 percent more power than the former 100cc model. The mill is linked to a 4-speed transmission to transfer the generated power to the rear wheel.
Showcased at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo and recently spotted a dealership, bike is fitted with telescopic suspension and drum brakes at both ends. It will go head to head with other products available like Yamaha Saluto RX, Honda Livo and the new TVS Victor in the premium commuter segment in the country.
