Hero MotoCorp has bring changes in its Indian product lineup and has discontinued three motorcycle from its 2017 calendar year lineup. And the complete event came into knowledge when Hero eliminated the Impulse recently.
Here is the list of discontinued models..
Splendor iSmart
Splendor Pro Classic
HF Dawn
Splendor iSmart:
The Splendor iSmart was a disputed motorcycle in Hero’s lineup, as it was claimed to return fuel economy over 100 kmpl with the aids of i3s technology. However, Honda, which was the owner and manufacturer of the equipped engine in motorcycle said it a misleading.
Splendor iSmart was available in market when it equips Honda’s 97cc engine and Hero has already developed its successor – Splendor iSmart 110, which underpinned company’s indigenously built engine.
Splendor Pro Classic:
Splendor Pro Classic was a cafe racer motorcycle and claimed to be the cheapest one in this genre in India. However, owing to its impractical seating, it feels like that there were not many buyers for it. Obviously we will never find out its overall sales since Hero does not release variant wise sales report for the Splendor series.
So it is clear that owing to low sales Hero does not find to upgrade the Pro Classic for the new BS-IV emission norms. The motorcycle is discontinued from lineup and we will not be able to see the use of indigenously developed Hero engine on this one.
HF Dawn:
HF Dawn was the model which was witnessing not only the low sales but also been produced at very low scale. So finally, brand has decided to remove it from its lineup.
By this action, the HF Deluxe has now become the most affordable motorcycle and the entry point into Hero’s house.
All the three motorcycles are not the part of products at the official website.
There are also a few more models which may be (or have already been) discontinued by Hero, could be clear officially in coming days.
