As per the motoring forum, Autocar Professional, India’s largest selling motorcycle manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp is all set to introduce an affordable adventure tourer, the new Hero Xpluse 200 in the Indian market in the second half of the ongoing year. From the pricing perspective, the thing that came out is it will be more affordable than the Royal Enfield Himalayan available in the segment.
Mechanically, the new Hero XPulse 200 will be powered by the shared powertrain of the Xtreme 200R. The 200cc, air-cooled, single cylinder engine is rated to develop 18 bhp and transmits 17 Nm to the rear wheel via a mated five-speed unit.
Considering Hero XPulse 200 launch, Malo Le Masson, head, Global product planning, Hero MotoCorp said,"If you look at the premium market in India, 70 percent is below Rs 100,000. So this is why first we are concentrating on bringing the Xtreme 200R and the XPulse 200. We are looking first at this segment because from a volume standpoint, this is the biggest."
The suspension setup on the Hero XPulse 200 will be the orthodox telescopic front fork and a rear monoshock. Whereas, for braking, the adventure tourer will be armed with disc brakes at both ends. Altogether, the presence of a single channel-ABS will offer precise braking on the motorcycle.
Furthermore, the features that will be major highlights of this new adventure tourer will be a fully digital instrument cluster and LED headlamp setup for better illumination on the dark scenarios.
Moreover, a 300cc streetfighter is also lined up to launch from Hero stable. The motorcycle will draw inspiration from the XF3R concept displayed at the Auto Expo 2016. With these upcoming bikes, the brand is focusing on the premium bike segment that will further be followed by higher displacement bikes into 250cc to 500cc, later in future.
