Honda Motorcycle and Scooter Indian (HMSI) is eyeing on the commuter segment as the company is planning to launch four two-wheelers in the next four months to keep making its position in the Indian two-wheeler market. Recently, the company had hosted an event that was scheduled in 8 cities simultaneously, #Revfest, in which the company has launched its all-new CBR650F. In addition to the CBR650F, the firm has also showcased the new Hornet 160R and facelift version of CBR150R and CBR250R. Moreover, in comparison of the previous year, the company also expects dynamic sales during the upcoming festive season. "We expect 4-5 percent year-on-year growth this festive season as we are running full capacity," HMSI Vice President sales and marketing, Y S Guleria added.
The next upcoming products would be Honda CB Hornet 160R, facelift version of CBR150R & CBR250R and a mystery 125cc commuter motorcycle that was teased at the Revfest. Some reports suggested that the company is not in mood to launch its higher capacity engined motorcycles named CBR300R and CBR500R in the country. Both the models could take a couple of years to make its debut in the country.
Honda's senior vice president YS Guleria has confirmed that the new streetfighter motorcycle will get the same 162.71 cc air-cooled engine from the Unicorn 160, which was anyways known, but there was an obvious expectation of a higher power output justifying the ‘R’ tag. The new CB Hornet 160R will continue to produce a similar power output of 14.5 BHP, while the torque is unknown. The CB Hornet will be priced between Rs. 75,000 to 80,000 (Ex. Showroom).
