Unveiled at the 14th edition of Delhi Auto Expo, the Honda Activa 5G has officially launched from the automaker at an introductory price sticker of INR 52,460 for the base variant. Whereas, the top end variant the Activa 5G DLX will make you spend INR 54,325. In the segment, the new Honda Activa 5G will lock its horns with the likes of the TVS Jupiter and Wego, the Yamaha Ray Z and Fascino.
The new Activa 5G now comes with features such as all-new full-LED headlamps and position lights which are first being used in the 110cc scooter in India. In addition to this, the changes that give an appealing look to the scooter include new chrome highlights, a metal muffler protector and two new paint schemes-Dazzle Yellow Metallic and Pearl Spartan Red.
Other new features on the next-gen Activa only for the new Deluxe variant comprises LED headlamp unit, a semi-digital instrument cluster with an ECO speed mode and service due indicators. Also, the 4-in-1 lock opener switch that gives the aids of a seat opener switch, a front hook and a retractable rear hook.
Mechanically, the Honda Activa 5G is laden with the same 109.19cc engine from the previous Activa 4G model. The churned out power and torque are 8bhp at 7500 rpm and 9Nm at 5,500rpm. The power transmission takes place through a CVT automatic gearbox. The Activa 5G runs on 10-inch wheels wrapped with 90/100 tyres. While the deceleration is under the consideration of 130mm drum brakes which in integration with Honda’s combi brake setup.
Honda’s decision to revise the Activa lineup with the new Activa 5G is to take on with the new scooter launches in the segment. However, the Activa has a great brand value that its new iteration to fly away from the dealerships as like its predecessors.
