HMSI has announced an electric scooter for the Indian market. As per brand’s earlier reported, it is under development. Surprisingly, all the development for the electric scooter is being handled at Honda’s headquarters in Japan, not in India.
The HMSI CEO, Minoru Kato has also affirmed the report by quoting, “The work is well underway. Inputs are also being taken from the Indian operation”. He keeps on saying, besides having a lot of experience in the EVs development, it's never been easy to meet up Indian customers expectations.

With this forthcoming electric scooter, the brand’s primary expectation is minimum distance travel of 100km. Whereas, the performance and pricing will be the other aspects, will be considered by the brand. Going to be the first all-electric two-wheeler from Honda, the electric scooter is not confirmed when to hit the Indian ground.
The Indian government has already cleared its intention of adopting cleaner modes of transport and alternative fuels in coming future. It will play a vital role in setting up electric vehicle industry in the country.
