As the competition in the commuter segment growing day by day, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India is thinking to throw out new models in the Indian market. However, the firm already have Honda CB shine, the highest selling motorcycle in the 125cc segment in India. But to target mostly rural areas, automaker, reportedly imported the TMX 125 for the testing purposes. If Honda TMX 125 comes to the Indian shores then it will be the most affordable commuter from Honda in the commuter series and expected to be priced nearer to INR 40,000. The TMX 125 will compete with the leading manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp’s available bikes- Hero Glamour, Super Splendor and the Ignitor, which has registered higher sales figures in the recent few month sales reports in 125cc segment.

Already available in some of the international markets, Honda TMX 125 houses a 124cc displacement engine as its beating heart which is concatenated with 5-speed gear transmission, that make us believe that bike will perform smoothly and will return good fuel economy. Basically, most of the 124cc bikes in the Indian market having 4-speed gear transmission such as TVS Star Sports, Bajaj CT 100, etc.
Aesthetically, TMX 125 is completely suitable for rural areas as motorcycle features a box headlamp, flat seat, a long exhaust, rear carrier and spoke wheels that makes it an average looking bike in the segment.
On the basis of price under Rs. 40,000, TMX 125 is expected to target entry level bikes from the Hero MotoCorp stable and the main rival of TMX will be the Bajaj CT100, which is priced just INR 35,034 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
