Husqvarna Svartpilen, where ‘Svartpilen’ refers to Black Arrow, was showcased along with its cousin the Vitpilen (White Arrow) for the first time around three years ago as concepts. Recently, the almost market ready iteration of the Husky Svartpilen, which was resembling to its concept without any modification, was spotted performing test runs in Europe. Rumors suggest, the Svartpilen could be the foremost from Husqvarna to hit the Indian ground by this year end.
Basically, the Svartpilen is a street scrambler, but, due to a bits of components that are much favourable for off-roading, made this scrambler an offbeat and interesting product. Such components comprises 17-inch spoke wheels wrapped with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres, wide upright handlebars and minimal fenders that much meant to style than substance.
Other major highlights of the Svartpilen that will definitely seek your attention are its chiseled fuel tank and seat styling. Keeping the same tank periphery as its of concept, the Svartpilen is equipped with seat unit that the owner can remove pillion seat for placing small luggage rack. The instrument console of the Svartpilen gained a TFT infotainment screen from the new 390 Duke.
The witnessed powertrain from the spy shots is considered to be a shared unit from KTM, a 373cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder mill. The said powerplant is rated to produce 43bhp of power and deliver 37Nm of torque. The coupled six-speed transmission with slipper clutch assist, helps in sending all the generated power to the rear wheel.
Here in India, post launch, the Svartpilen will be placed above the KTM 390 Duke as a premium Scrambler.
