As per the surfaced reports, the Swedish manufacturer- Husqvarna, which is going to commence production of its products at the Chakan based Bajaj manufacturing unit in the early next year, will sell its range of motorcycles from the co-partner’s Pro-Biking showrooms. Apart from this, these outlets are being used to sell KTM and Kawasaki motorcycles in the country.
An initial lot of production will be exported to the other markets in the world. Whereas, the Indian market will witness the arrival of the bikes, the 401 Vitpilen or the 401 Svartpilen in the second quarter of FY 2016-17. Mechanically, both the mentioned bikes use underpinnings from the KTM Duke 390.
A few days ago, Kawasaki was pondering to consolidate its sales and service in urban cities also in Tier-1 cities. But now, the Husqvarna launch in the country next year, as possible, will help the Kawasaki as the brand has observed a decrease in popularity in India after KTM launched. Now in future, the Bajaj Pro-Biking would offer bikes from the three brands, out of which two are associated with the Bajaj.
In terms of brand positioning, expectations are Bajaj will put Husqvarna above the KTMs as they look distinct than the KTM and Bajaj motorcycles. So we can see, Husqvarna as a premium brand at the showrooms in India. To know more, stay connected with us.
