It has been approximately years ago, when Hyundai had launched a sixth generation model of the Elantra (Avante in home market) in South Korea and North America. Moreover, the automaker has also confirmed that the car will make its way to the Indian Shores by second half of this year. It seems like the carmaker is now all set to introduce its new update here in the country. One of the test mules of which was caught on camera that shows it is coming soon in the market.
As the test mule was wearing the clothes across the design, it doesn’t revealed much secrets. However, it can be seen clearly that Elantra has replaced the older Fluidic design with some new refresh and mature theme. The front end is furnished by hexagonal grille, flanked by sporty headlamps together with daytime running lights.
It is reported that Hyundai has also ditched the ongoing model's dash for a conventional unit that is also expected to have a touchscreen infotainment system along with more eye-catching interior.
Under the bonnet, India bound Elantra is likely to be powered by a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that is tuned to generate a power of 149 Bhp. On the other hand, the diesel motor could be powered by a 1.6-litre unit that is good to make out 136 Bhp of power. Once launched in the Indian automobile segment, it will take on the likes of Volkswagen Jetta, Skoda Octavia and other that fits in the range.
