It’s been only a couple of months when the Korean auto giant Hyundai has launched an anniversary edition of the Grand i10 in India that has covered a major portion in the newspapers. And now, it’s again on the same page when a facelifted version of the said unit has been caught on camera. The pictures were taken in Chennai at the time the car was undergoing the test round on the roads. Although rumours about this new avatar have already been on their hike, this is for the first time the car has been captured by the spy photographers.
Those who don’t know, it was the first unit to adopt Hyundai’s Fluidic design philosophy. It was September 2013, when we first witnessed this car in the country and later on, it had also received the Indian Car of the Year Award in the year of 2014. By looking at the pictures, we have examined that the camouflaged portions of the car have got the prominent changes. Dimensionally, it looks identical to the regular one, however, the diamond shaped alloy wheels have been replaced by a new design.
There is no sign of any modification in its powertrain, the facelifted Grand i10 could uphold the same powertrain as of its ongoing versions. Presently, it is available in both petrol and diesel trims that are powered by a 1.2-litre Kappa motor and 1.1-litre three cylinder U2 VGT mill respectively. In terms of performance, the former can pull the unit with a power of 82 Bhp with a torque of 116 Nm, while the latter can propel the vehicle with a power of 70 bhp and 163 Nm of torque. The only update can be seen here is a new automated manual transmission variant, which is also not confirmed yet.
In the recent times, the automaker has made so many updates across its lineup in order to achieve more sales number. Hyundai Creta, a crossover has come up with an anniversary edition at the starting price of INR 12.24 Lakhs as well as an automatic transmission facility with its S+ trim has also been launched in the market. Apart from these, the company is also set to release its latest generation Elantra in the Indian auto segment, which is scheduled to take place on August 23.
