Hyundai India is gearing up for its future goals in developing new era of engines, which offer efficient fuel economy and amazing performance. The major automobile makers like Tata, Renault, Maruti Suzuki have been working seamlessly in introducing the AMT equipped vehicles in the recent times. Now, the Hyundai Motors is looking forward to join the league. The reports suggest that the thing could be possible by the year 2018. However, Hyundai has not mentioned the names of the vehicles that will offer the AMT transmission.
After the successful implementation of the technology, some Hyundai cars will be benefited, which come under the entry-level in the segment. Prominent Hyundai car models Grand i10, the eon and i10 active will be getting the AMT transmission in the first place. The models will be tried and tested before the launch. According to the sources, the upcoming Hyundai compact SUV might get configured with the AMT for sure.
If Hyundai is unable to manufacture the transmission in its own facility then it is expected that the automaker will borrow it from the leading German automotive ancillary maker, ZF Sachs, for supplying the AMT kit for the engines. We have seen the agency provide the AMT kit for the latest Duster AMT. MEanwhile, the other automotive giants such as Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors borrow their AMT kit from the Italian automotive ancillary maker, Magneti Marelli, which is also a renowned name in the world of AMT system manufacturers.
Moreover, the studies reveal that the AMT gearboxes have great benefits for the engine. It holds a positive impact on the engine performance and efficiency. It also facilitates great ride quality and handling. The only problem is that the kits are sophisticated to fit in with some engines and the charges are handfull, while on the other hand, the manual transmission that comes with the electromagnetic gear clutch offer similar performance and mileage at a cheaper rate.
As of now, Hyundai India has equipped the AMT in the models such as Grand i10, Elantra, Xcent, Verna, Creta and Santa Fe.
