The front end of the next-gen Lexus ES is out online before the global debut which is placed at Auto China 2018 (2018 Beijing Motor Show) this month. From the front design, it resembles with the fifth-gen Lexus LS in terms of shrunken and toned down appearance of the seventh-gen Lexus ES. Although, the company ascertains that there are some distinctions in both the Sedans to make the fifth-gen retain its place with uniqueness.
The spindle grille in the 7th-gen Lexus ES appears less dramatic as compared to the Lexus LS. The headlamps of the new Sedan take inspiration from the flagship saloon’s slit-shaped units, although they do not take triple bi-LED lighting and not as slim. The air vents are smaller on the sides of the bumper. Although, the seventh-gen Lexus ES appears more muscular and dominating.

The all-new Lexus ES is expected to equipped with the same platform as the Toyota Avalon that is TNGA K platform. It is powered by a TNGA-derived 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine which comes mated to an all-new TNGA 8-speed automatic transmission. Apart from this, the hybrid powertrain is powered by a TNGA 2.5-litre petrol engine along with two electric motors, as expected.
The new Lexus ES Sedan is expected to be available in the market around the second half of the year. Although, it is likely to come in the Indian market around next year.
