This is a great achievement for the automaker as it's the first time Maruti has sent a home made car to Japan. Usually, the cars are imported to India from Japan and later on sold here. If the reports are to be believed, more than 100 foreign markets are going to be served with home made Balenos. Woah! That's huge!
Talking about the engine specifications, the exported Baleno is available with both diesel and petrol powertrains. The categories include a 1 litre BoosterJet motor making 110Bhp and 17.33 kg of peak torque and a 1.2 litre DualJet unit, which is found integrated with an SHVS technology. Transmission duties are performed by two kinds of arrangements- 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic. As far as the cosmetics and equipments are concerned, no changes have been made to these aspects.
