Suzuki has pulled the covers off from the updated range of V-Storm at the evolving Intermot 2016. Beside being containing most of the previous mechanicals, the top end adventure variants-the V-Strom 1000 and the V-Strom 1000 XT are being updated with more off-road features.
Aesthetically, as Suzuki states, both the bikes, regular and XT are wearing design cues inspired from the late 80’s adventure bikes. The bikes get handguard and skid plate for engine safety as standard. As a course of the new fitment, they benefit from a new windscreen that sits 9mm higher than the outgoing trims and offers the facility of height and tilt angle adjustment.
As far as mechanicals concerned, the new V-Strom continues with the same 1,073cc V-twin motor, but now the retuned engine complies mandatory Euro-IV emission norms. To enhance the outcome of these adventure motorcycles, the automaker avails ‘low rpm assist’ that performs the mechanism of raising engine rpm at starting and in the low rpm range. More in the queue, the automatically activating cornering ABS which evokes itself at an appropriate leaning angle. And, the one-push engine starter that cranks the engine, even more faster than the regular version.
At the event, the V-Strom 650 and the new V-Strom 650XT were also being showcased beside the above-mentioned adventure bikes. These mid-sized offerings boast the same powertrain of SV650, along with the features supplied for the 1,000cc models.
