For the first time ever, a test mule of the upcoming Isuzu MU-X SUV has been spotted on the Indian roads that is slated to be launched in the later this year in order to take on the likes of Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Chevrolet Trailblazer. It would be the same prototype that had earlier been imported to the country for testing the compatibility of the unit for the roads and for some other research and development process. Upon debut, it will replace the ongoing MU-7 SUV which first arrived here in July 2013.
In terms of the dimensions, the global-based Isuzu MU-X measures 4,825 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, 1,860 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,845 mm. As the reports suggest, the MU-X shares most of its cues, interior and underpinnings with the ongoing and its one of the competitors Chevrolet Trailblazer. With the said model is rumored to be assembled locally at the company's Sri City plant in AP, it could be priced slightly lower than the Trailblazer which is being sold through CBU route.
Furthermore, its high ride height of 230 mm will also be beneficial to beat the Indian bumpy and rough roads. Another prominent feature of the unit is the wrap-around rear windshield that will give it a contemporary as well as aggressive look. Besides, the interior of the unit is too inspired from the Trailblazer featuring leather-wrapped steering wheel, seats, and door trims. Moreover, features like a touch screen entertainment system integrated with six speakers and Mp3, USB, Aux-in, Bluetooth and navigation support. For safety, it will get a dual airbag, ABS, EBD, brake assist, electronic stability control ABS, EBD, brake assist, and traction control system and some others.
Under the hood, we are expecting the Isuzu MU-X with two different powerhouse option that is being offered in Thailand auto segment- an RZ4E-TC1.9-litre four-cylinder diesel guise and a 4JJ1-TCX 3.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine.
