The Japanese manufacturer, Isuzu will hike the prices of its cars from January 1, 2019 which is done because of distribution costs and increasing input.
For D-MAX Regular Cab and D-MAX S-CAB there will be hike between 1-2 percent and for the Isuzu D-MAX V-Cross and MU-X SUV pickup the increase is expected to be between 3-4 percent. Based on the variant and model, the hike in price will be Rs 15,000 and Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom).
Before few months i.e. in September 2018, the company hiked the prices by 2-3 percent of all the D-Max models from the Regular Cab models to 4x4 adventure Pickup- D-Max V-Cross, which is an increase of price between Rs 20,000 and Rs 50,000 (ex-showroom).
In India, the 2018 Isuzu MU-X facelift was launched with the price from Rs 26.34 lakh for the 4x2 version to the Rs 28.31 lakh for the 4x4 version (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi). Currently, the D-Max V-Cross costs Rs 14.82 lakh to Rs 16.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Earlier, Toyota and BMW also announced an increase in prices by 4 per cent across their model range. To compete against the rivals Ford Endeavour, Mahindra new Alturas G4 SUV and Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu launched the MU-X SUV which costs Rs 26.27 lakh (ex-showroom, Hyderabad.)
