Finally, the much awaited and also, the talk of the town, Jaguar F-Pace SUV has launched in India last night with a grand ceremony held at Wilson College Gymkhana in Mumbai, while the prices for the upcoming F-Pace variants have already been revealed by the Jaguar India.
Taking you around some highlights of the launching event, Tata Motors-owned British luxury automaker, JLR’s ultra-premium SUV, F-Pace made its India launch in a spectacular show last night, while India’s famous Formula 1 driver, Narain Karthikeyan was himself behind the steering wheel and drove the F-Pace up the steep ramp. And then, the great Indian singer, Shankar Mahadevan added more glitter to the event, especially with the one which was dedicated to the F-Pace.
Available in four variants - Pure, Prestige, R-Sport and First Edition, the bookings for the SUV have already been commenced and can be carried out via both online and at the company’s authorised dealerships across the country.
The F-Pace SUV from Jaguar has never missed becoming a headline since its origin, no matter if it is spied testing somewhere or officials released any statements about the car. The British luxury auto manufacturer, JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) is primarily putting his knee-eye on the Indian market since Tata motors acquired the brand.
The second generation F-Pace will be sold in the country as CBU (Complete Built Unit) at an introductory price of INR 68.40 Lakh for the base 2.0-litre diesel ‘Pure’ variant, while the top-end trim ‘First Edition’ 3.0-litre diesel costs INR 1.12 Crore, Jaguar released the news earlier in a press release.

Let’s move towards the car aspects, based on the iQ aluminium intensive architecture which also underpins the recent offerings by the brand, the XE and the new XF. The overall weight of the SUV has also been reduced by using composites in the tailgate and magnesium in the cross-bar beam. Designed to further enhance the aggressiveness, the new F-Pace gets brand’s signature honeycomb mesh front grille which decorated by adaptive LED headlights along with the J-blade DRLs (Daytime Running Lights).
The F-Pace SUV offers a slew of technology-genius features including an activity key, a 10.2-inch tablet-style smart infotainment and derived chassis technologies such as Torque Vectoring and Adaptive Dynamics. Other standard features are dual-zone climate control, cruise control, all surface progress control InControl touch screen infotainment system, powered front seats, rear parking sensors, etc.
Under the hood, the first two variants feature JLR’s new 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine which is capable of churning out 180 PS of maximum power and 480Nm of torque.
While the R-Sport and First Edition variants are more updated and are equipped with a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine that churns out 300 PS and a peak torque of 700 Nm. The engine is further mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission under an all-wheel drive system.
