Jaguar has been testing the testing mule of the underdeveloped Jaguar F-Type Facelift at Nüburgring in Germany. The facelifted F-Type is expected to be powered by a new 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. It is likely to debut in 2017.
The test model has been spotted with minor tweak son the exterior counterpart. Some reports suggest the car is using a 2.0-litre four-cylinder V6 motor. The engine is said to be adopted from the XE model, which churns out a maximum power of 240 hp. But, this may offer a power output of around 305 hp.
Also, looking closely to the front fascia, it has been found that the air intakes is missing on the front bumper, instead of that some slimmer gaps have been added in order to make it more aerodynamic scientifically. The new facelifted version is likely to feature new piece of LED headlights and adaptive technology. However, the 2017 facelift model will receive minor changes on the exterior part. While, the interior remains unspecified till now. It is expected to receive JLR’s latest infotainment system sourced from the Discovery Sport.
As far as the mechanicals is concerned, little is known to be changed. The car will make an entry in the mid-level with the V6 engine, and the top-end variant might feature the supercharged V8 engine. Post launch, the 2017 four-cylinder F-Type will be competing against rivals such as the Porsche 718 Cayman and the Boxster convertible.
