Tata owned Jaguar Land Rover has recently declared to enter the luxury saloon segment in the Indian automobile market with its all new XE model. The sedan will be launched during the upcoming Delhi Auto Expo 2016 on 3rd February, 2016. The automaker has also started accepting bookings for the same at the token amount of INR 1 Lakh. The all new XE has been designed by Mr Ian Callum, who is the Design Chief at Jaguar. It is based on the newly developed aluminium architecture and is claimed to offer a drag coefficient of 0.26, which makes it the most aerodynamic car ever.

Discussing the features, the interior is highly elegant and mesmerising and boasts of a host of modern amenities in the form of softgrain Windsor leather seats, 380-watts Meridian sound system, surround camera system, cruise control, navigation, panoramic sunroof and interior mood lighting. As far as the powertrain is concerned, a 2 litre petrol engine will be fitted under the hood that will generate ouTput in 2 states- 200 PS/320Nm and 240PS/340Nm.

The luxury segment of the country is already dominated by automakers like BMW, Audi and Mercedes from the past 10 years and hence, it seems to be a challenging task for Jaguar to leave a mark among the audience, where the majority opts for an affordable Maruti car. After the launch, Jaguar XE will try to take on the well established models like BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and Mercedes C Class.
