The deliveries of Jawa Motorcycles for which the owners were waiting from more than 4.5 months since launch has finally been started in India. Initially, the company has delivered a few bikes on 30th March 2019 while the next lot of bikes is likely to be delivered on 15th April 2019. Apart from this, those who booked for ABS equipped (single channel unit)Jawa and Jawa 42 models on 15th Nov 2018, will get the delivery of their bikes by the end of April 2019.
Further, the bookings registered on 16th Nov will be delivered in May 2019. Depending upon the booking IDs, the Jawa Motorcycles separated deliveries into two categories. Booking IDs from JAWA20181116003 to JAWA201811163931 will be handed over in the 1st half of May while those who have booking IDs ranging from JAWA201811163949 to JAWA201811166344 will be availed with bikes against bookings in the second half of May 2019. The bookings received on 17th Nov and onwards, the deliveries against them will be given from June 2019. Whilst, the deliveries of the Jawa and Jawa 42 with dual ABS will also commence in June 2019.

Other than the delivery details, the Jawa buyers were also wishing to know the ARAI claimed mileage of both motorcycles. However, officially the bike maker did not reveal the same. But now a tweet on Jawa Motorcycles’ twitter handle reveals the ARAI claimed mileage of 37.5kmpl for both the Jawa and Jawa 42 models. It is a little more than the Mojo’s mileage of 35kmpl. Whereas, a video review of Jawa being ridden in city conditions reveals a mileage of 22kmpl.
Jawa and Jawa 42 models are available on sale at INR 1,64,000 and Rs. 1,55,000 respectively for the rear drum brake variants. While the variants with dual channel ABS will set you back at INR 1,72,942 and Rs 1,63,942 respectively. All the mentioned prices here are applicable at ex-showroom, Delhi. For the top end Jawa model, the company is offering three colour options to opt from which are Maroon, Gray and Black while the Jawa 42 offers just double (six) colour options such as Comet Red (Glossy), Nebula Blue (Glossy), Starlight Blue (Matte), Lumos Lime (Matte), Galactic Green (Matte), and Halley’s Teal (Matte). As of now, the company is supplying motorcycles from its 99 dealerships across 77 cities. Later this year, the retro bobber styled Jawa Perak will also join the siblings in the lineup. While the production of Jawa Motorcycles is being managed by the brand’s Pithampur based facility in Madhya Pradesh.

Powering for both the Jawa models on sale comes from a 293cc, single-cylinder, 4 stroke, liquid cooled, DOHC engine. The engine is claimed to develop 27 bhp of power along with 28Nm of torque through a mated constant mesh 6-speed gearbox. Apart from this, the automaker tuned the mill to perform better in mid rev range along with an exhaust note different from a classic Jawa bike.
Furthermore, the first motorcycle exchange program has also been reported by the Classic Legends Pvt. Ltd. With the support of Mahindra First Choice Wheels that is India’s first pre-owned vehicle brand, all the dealerships will be availed with this program. Under this program, one can exchange an old bike with a new Jawa bike. Jawa Motorcycles is offering finance schemes supported by HDFC Bank, Tata Capital, ICICI Bank, Mahindra Finance, Capital First (IDFC Bank), L&T Finance Limited and Hinduja Leyland Finance.
