Jeep Compass Diesel-Automatic Launched in India: Price, Specifications

The American automobile brand Jeep Car launched the diesel-automatic model of the Compass SUV in the Indian market. The Jeep Compass diesel engine-automatic gearbox is available in two variants i.e Longitude and Limited Plus with the price of ₹21.96 lakh and ₹24.99 lakh respectively. Compass diesel-automatic booking is already ON and delivery is expected to start soon.

The Jeep Compass diesel automatics longitude variant costs around Rs 4 lakh more than its manual model. It is powered by a BS6 engine and the list of features includes a 9-speed automatic gearbox and 4-wheel drive system. Due to these features, its price increased higher than the manual gearbox model. However, the price of Jeep Compass diesel automatics Limited Plus is about ₹1.9 lakh more than its manual model.

So far, only its top model in the Jeep Compass range, the Compass Trailhawk, was available in a diesel engine-automatic gearbox. Its price is between ₹26.80 lakh to ₹27.60 lakh. After the launch of both these new variants, the diesel-automatic model of the Compass SUV is now available at a low price of about ₹4.8 lakh. Both of these new diesel-automatic variants of the compass are BS6 compliant 2-liter diesel engines, which generate 173hp power. The engine is equipped with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

The Jeep Compass diesel automatics longitude variant features 17-inch alloy wheels, ABS, electronic stability control (ESC), traction control, hill start assist and disc brakes in all four wheels are standard. The safety kit available on the manual and automatic variants is identical. The Limited Plus variant features a sunroof, 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system, auto headlamp, rain-sensing wipers, adjustable driver’s seat, 6-airbags and 18-inch alloy wheels standard.

JEEP Compass Diesel priced between ₹16.61-₹27.6 lakh that keep it in competition with other diesel midsize SUVs like the Kia Seltos, MG Hector top off, and Tata Harrier with prices at ₹17.34 lakh, ₹17.28 lakh, and ₹17.31 lakh respectively. And diesel Hyundai Tucson and Volkswagen Tiguan with price ₹20.80-₹26.97 lakh* and ₹28.14-₹31.54 lakh*, respectively.
