The pre-bookings for the Jeep Compass Trailhawk SUV has been commenced in India. The token amount that is being collected by the authorized Jeep dealerships in India is INR 50,000. It is expected to launch by the end of June or in early July this year. As it is locally being manufactured at FCA’s Ranjangaon facility to sell out in markets like Australia and Japan.
In Indian lineup, the upcoming Compass Trailhawk will be a range-topping trim as similar to its International lineup. The Trailhawk variant that is exported for the international markets, gets top end features like Jeep’s Active Drive Low-range 4WD tech to perform hard on off-road and a new ‘Rock mode that is a part of Selec-Terrain 4WD system.
The Compass TrailHawk that sits on 198mm is 20mm higher in ground clearance than the regular compass with 178mm. New bumpers on either end increase the aspects such as Approach, departure and breakover angles. Now stands at 480mm,
Water wading depth has also been increased by 75mm as compared to the regular Compass. An electronic aid of hill descent control will be provided as a standard unit.

Under the hood, the Compass Trailhawk will offer only a diesel-automatic drivetrain combination. The 2-litre turbocharged diesel engine in integration with a 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox will generate the maximum power of 170bhp along with 350Nm of peak torque.
Other highlighted features on the forthcoming Compass TrailHawk will include dual-tone black and silver paint scheme, a black painted anti-glare bonnet decal, red recovery hooks, underbody skid plates, all-weather floor mats and a new set of alloy wheels.
The Compass Trailhawk diesel-automatic will be around INR 2.5 lakh costlier than the standard top end variant of ongoing Jeep Compass.
