Jeep is continuously growing in the Indian market due to compass SUV. It was introduced in July 2017 and more than 25,000 units of the premium SUV have been sold out in India. It is the best selling luxury cars in India from Jeep. It touches the average per month sale of 2,000 unit, the FCA Group is as well planning to introduce two more UVs for the Indian market, this comprises a mid-size 3 row SUV and sub 4 meter SUV. The two cars will also be manufactured in India similar to the Compass and reach the Indian market by 2022.
Sub 4 meter SUV from the company will be ranked after the Renegade considering the premium B-SUV segment. It is not revealed by the company yet that at what platform the SUV will be working on, but according to the reports, it could take the Fiat Panda platform. After the launch, it will compete the Tata Nexon, Honda WR-V, Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300 in the market
With the launch, the new SUV will become the smallest Jeep to introduce. It takes the DNA of the Jeep considering performance, exterior design, and interior makeup and should be introduced along with diesel and petrol engine options. 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive both will be available on offer with the SUV.
Along with the compact SUV, Jeep has also assured a 3 row midsized Jeep UV in the country ranked above the present Compass in Jeep’s series of cars. The 3 row SUV will rival the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour and is expected to price in the range of Rs. 25-30 lakhs. The SUV is ranked above the Compass, it will take the Jeep Grand Cherokee platform.
With the new launch, the company is also thinking to invest in the Ranjangaon facility of Jeep whereas plant capacity will be enlarged by 50% more than the existing number. Jeep also plans to launch a facelifted Compass by 2022. It is also assured now by the company that the new Jeep Compass plug-in hybrid variant is also under construction works.
