KTM 1190 Adventure R discern at Local Dealer, Expected for Early Launch

The Austrian motorcycle manufacturer is rigorously planning to expand its Indian line-up of sports motorcycles. After having the faired and naked siblings of sports motorcycle, we would soon be having an all new adventurous motorcycle in the KTM's Indian portfolio. The naked sibling, KTM Duke, was introduced back in 2013 and following the success steps of the very same, the firm has launched the faired sibling, i.e. KTM RC series of sports motorcycles. Talking about the new entry in the chart is the KTM 1190 Adventure R, as it is recently spotted in a local dealership.

Taking things positively, Mr. Stefan Pierer, CEO at KTM, has made an announcement of introducing an Adventure motorcycle while the launching ceremony of the KTM RC brothers, back in the month of September, 2014. By snapping the KTM 1190 Adventure R in the local dealership, it seems that the firm is moving closer towards the promise made last year. Out of the four offerings in the Adventure family, the middle-one, i.e. KTM 1190 Adventure R is heading towards India, but via the CKD route.

Getting into the technical details of the KTM 1190 Adventure R, it carries a V-twin- cylinder configuration, liquid-cooled, 1195cc engine displacement. The engine is mated to 6-speed transmission delivering a churning power of 150 BHP. The 1195cc displaced engine is fitted around a Lattice frame, which is made-up of high-rigidity Chrome molybdenum steel, which also helps to maintain the weight up to 230 kg, along with carrying a 23 liter fuel tank capacity.

The additional onboard components are upside-down WP travel suspension at the front and monoshock at the rear. The stopping power is provided by a pair of disc brakes on both front and the rear, incorporated with Bosch ABS. Being a tourer motorcycle; it is also armed with a ride-by-wire and slipper clutch. The riding quality has been guarded by the Traction Control system and various riding modes have been offered by the manufacturer in order to give you different riding experiences over off-roads. However, if the KTM 1190 Adventure R will get launched by the company, it would definitely priced over the 9th cloud, based on the current pricing criteria of the company.
