KTM two-wheeler which is a renowned brand among the biking enthusiasts for its affordable performance motorcycles, is likely to roll out four new motorcycles by this year-end or early next year. Lately, the Austrian bikemaker launched the Duke 125 which was accepted by the Indian audience with an overwhelming response. While the launch of these four new KTMs will diversify the existing range of motorcycles. If everything goes by the plan, there are chances that KTM could roll out bikes in bunch not single unit one by one. Check out the list of product which would join the siblings in Indian lineup soon.
KTM RC250:
KTM RC250 is the sports runner which is already under the pipeline in India and exported to other markets. However, the automaker did not launch the motorcycle in India. Well, the motorcycle has been witnessed performing test runs in India around a year ago. No official words for the launch though we can see its arrival in India anytime soon.
Based on the RC390 chassis, the RC250 gets power from the 248.8cc engine that performs propelling duties on the Duke 250 as well. The engine is claimed to develop 30 bhp of power and transmit 24 Nm of peak torque via a mated 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle will see the competition with the rivals like the TVS Apache RR310, Honda CBR 250R and the upcoming Suzuki Gixxer 250 when launched.
The pricing for the upcoming fully faired motorcycle is expected to fall in the vicinity of INR 2.10-2.30 lakhs (ex-showroom).
KTM 390 Adventure:
KTM 390 Adventure, currently is the most-awaited motorcycle in India. Earlier, it was anticipated to hit the country at the 2018 Auto Expo though it did not happen. However, a test mule has lately been seen on test runs in India which confirms its early arrival by this year-end or early next year.
The 390 Adventure is based on a platform shared from the Duke 390 but being revised slightly for higher ground clearance and lower seat height. The 373.2cc, liquid-cooled engine from Duke 390 will be underpinned that makes out 43.5 bhp and 37 Nm of peak torque from a paired 6-speed gearbox.
In its segment, it competes with the RE Himalayan and the BMW G310 GS. while, expected to get priced around INR 2.60 lakhs (ex-showroom).
NextGen KTM RC390:
NextGen KTM RC390 is slated to launch soon in India. Recently, the motorcycle was spotted on its test runs while in Europe. As per the spied test mules, it would be a revised unit not only at the styling front but also at onboard features with some additions.
Besides the styling update, it will carry an improved BSVI compliant engine. The ongoing KTM RC390 gets a 373.2cc BS-IV compliant motor which develops around 43.5 bhp and 36Nm. Other than this, we can expect the rider’s aids like the ride-by-wire and ABS as standard fitments like the current model.
Here in India, it is expected by early 2020. However, the KTM will debut the model earlier at the 2019 EICMA motorcycle show. In terms of pricing, the next generation model will be tagged with the price tag dearer by INR 30-35 thousand over the current model pricing.
KTM 790 Duke:
The most powerful and expensive model in the KTM lineup, the 790 Duke is also in the list of upcoming launches. The news for a middleweight naked streetfighter is from a long time on the internet albeit there are no official words for the India launch. As per the surfaced reports, we could see the motorcycle in the second half of 2019. Here in India, it will be launched via CKD route at pricing around INR 7 Lakh mark (ex-showroom). While the assembling will take place at Bajaj’s Chakan facility near Pune.
The 799cc, parallel-twin engine will power the motorcycle with the developed power of 103.5 bhp and transmitted 86 Nm of torque via a 6-speed gearbox. Among the gizmos, it will feature stability control, multi-level traction control, anti-slip regulation, cornering ABS and much more.
