KTM, the well-known Austrian manufacturer, which has already touched the Indian Shores earlier, sometimes back, and pretty much appreciated by the Indian bike lovers. The company had entered the Indian market in the year 2007 and launched two of the naked models, i.e. KTM Duke 200 and 390 in India. These two models of Duke series came along with a price tag of Rs 1.35 Lakh and Rs 1.87 Lakh respectively.
Now, after the huge success of these two models, the company is now planning to launch two more sports bike from the same series of Duke. The two line-up models in India are KTM 690 Duke and 1290 Super Duke R. Well, now the question is which one will hit the Indian market first?
Here, if you'll take the rumors seriously, then the KTM 1290 Super Duke R will be likely to cut the ribbon first. The 690 Duke will probably follow its big brother. The Super Duke R will be rumored to enter the Indian market by the month of March, 2015. The 1290 Super Duke R is powered by a 1301cc engine displacement, which is capable to produce 178BHP of power and a maximum torque of 144Nm. The power plant is based upon the twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which is coupled with a 6-speed gearbox and a PASC slipper clutch.
The KTM 690 Duke is chasing the same path. The power plant of 690 gets its power by a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which gives an engine displacement of 690cc. The engine is capable to churn out a total power of 66 BHP along with a maximum torque of 70Nm.
Eventually, it is expected that both the big boys of Duke 200 and 390 will definitely boom up the Indian market, as the KTM lovers are impatiently waiting for 690 Duke and 1290 Super Duke R to get their hands over it.
