Ultimately, KTM has updated its RC range with the introduction of 2017 KTM RC390 & RC 200 in India. The top end variant gets a price sticker of INR 2,25,300 with a hike of around 5 percent from the last model. Whereas, the RC 200 will be sold at the price tag of INR 1,71,740. The mentioned prices of 2017 RC twins are applicable at the Delhi dealerships.
If talks about the featuring of the new KTM RCs, majorly observed changes are on the cosmetics level, whereas a few mechanical alterations have also been noticed on KTM RC 390. More than this, now both the models are blessed with engine options compliance to Euro IV emission norms, which are scheduled to be effected in the country from April 2017.
Now come to the 2017 KTM RC390, the motorcycle gets a revised paint job in a dual tone of black-orange (new UV resistant paint) along with the best combination of white graphics. Mechanically, the propelling duties of the new RC390 are under the consideration of similar 373.3cc, liquid-cooled motor from the predecessor model. The equipped motor and the exhaust system has been tweaked to comply the forthcoming Euro IV emission norms in April 2017. A two stage slung exhaust system will now ground the exhale power output of maximum 43.5PS. The torque figures for this revived sports runner are slightly increased by 1Nm, it now hits 36Nm on the mark.
Other remarkable changes on the bike, include the addition of ride-by-wire, adjustable brake and clutch levers, and an all new EVAP system, which helps to prevent vaporized fuel loss.
If 2017 KTM RC 200 is considered, it also receives a revised paint scheme, but apparently apart from the elder sibling hue. On mechanicals, an upgraded 199.5cc, liquid cooled engine to comply with the Euro4-emission norms will power the new RC 200. The motorcycle is featuring the same underbelly exhaust seen in the regular model, instead of bigger KTM RC’s side canister exhaust.
There are a few attributes which are common on both the trims, such as more comfortable pillion seat with 12mm extra padding, a WP suspension setup consisting 43mm USD front forks and a rear placed mono shock and the employment of identical fully digital instrument console from the outdated models. Moreover, the dual channel ABS and the slipper clutch features on the RC 390 are also availed from the predecessor model.
So these full-fledged RC versions blessed with all the required top shelf technologies will compete with the rivals like the Yamaha YZF-R3, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the forthcoming Benelli BN 302R.
