Land Rover has cut the prices of its popular SUVs in India. The slashed prices are introduced as a part of exclusive finance offer which is applicable on the Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque SUVs.
In addition to this, JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) has also upgraded the underhood details of its flagship SUV, Land Rover Discovery Sport with a 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine. The 2.0-litre diesel mill replaces the bigger 2.2-litre motor which has now been discontinued from the entire JLR India range.
The new 2.0-litre Land Rover Discovery Sport which was earlier available at INR 47.59 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), is now priced at INR 43.80 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The carmaker has also cut the price of Range Rover Evoque diesel model and now available at INR 45.85 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the 2.0-litre diesel SD4 Pure trim which was previously cost INR 49.10 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Coming back to the new powertrain of Land Rover Discovery Sport which is termed as ‘effortless performance, refinement and efficiency’ is available in two states of power output - 147 bhp and 177 bhp. With the upgraded motor, JLR claims an improved fuel economy and less CO2 emission as the engine uses all aluminum construction and advanced engineering.
Taking a look at the new Ingenium diesel motor, it is advanced and typically 20 kg lighter than that of previous generation engines. It features a computer-controlled adaptive engine cooling system which only engages at the time of need.
Moreover, the latest generation variable geometry turbocharger maximises power for low-speed torque and responsiveness. In addition to this, the internal friction in the Ingenium range has also been reduced by 17 percent compared to its previous generation engines.
