A test mule of what is reported to be a long wheelbase version of the Mahindra TUV 300 spied testing for the first time. Spotted while doing the test round on the outskirt of Chennai, the new SUV will be based on the platform of TUV sub-compact SUV and share most of its components with the same as well. Although wrapped under thick camouflage, the engineering mule gives away a little bit details.
As you can see in the spied shots, the SUV shows a heavy plastic coated third row glass area seems to hide its prime secret. On a closer look, you will get to see that the new longer wheelbase version of the TUV is covering a forward facing seat facility there instead of the regular opposite facing jump seats. Sources further suggest that this change will help the SUV to take on the likes of the Ertiga once which is available with such forward-facing third row option.
No official information related to the car has been provided by the company yet, but it is believed to carry the same powertrain offering in the ongoing TUV. Expected to be christened as TUV 500, it will d go up against the likes of the Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Nissan Terrano and also Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
