As the Indian market has shown positive vibes for each sector, the government decided to take a step for supporting the production of electric vehicles. The FAME or Faster Adoption for Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles scheme has been started off from the government to aid the manufacturers. Under the plan, the maker will get subsidy of upto INR 29,000 for 2-wheelers and INR 1.38 Lac for 4-wheelers. Now, one company which offers electric car in India has even got this rebate and the name is Mahindra e2o.
The car was earlier priced at INR 6.76 Lac, Ex-Showroom, Mumbai for T2 Premium variant, now has come to INR 4.99 Lac. While the T2O Quick2Charge variant is now available at INR 5.38 Lac Ex-showroom from the earlier price of INR 7 Lac plus. Although the battery leasing scheme from the company is still at INR 2,999 per month and the slashed prices are available only in the cities like Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahemdabad, Chennai, Greater Mumbai and the cities where the population is more than 1 million according to the government record.
