New Delhi Government had implemented some decision to take down the giant problem of the pollution. We all know it very well that every single judgement carries both pros and cons and it can be seen with this decision too. It has definitely proved to be a positive step to minimise the pollution, but the decreasing sales graph of cars with engines above 2.0-litre is also its negative sign. Well, Mahindra is also one of them, but it is not in a mood to stop the efforts. To increase its market share, the company has launched its new 1.99-litre engine with its two SUVs – Scorpio and XUV500.
Having the same power and torque figures, now both the models come with a new 1997 cc engine, which is a downsized form of the older 2.2-litre unit. With this new powertrain, the new Scorpio is available at a price between INR 9.67 Lakhs to INR 12.75 Lakhs. On the other hand, XUV500 starts from INR 11.58 Lakhs and goes up to INR 15.51 Lakhs (all price Ex-Showroom, New Delhi).
