As the new financial year has started, Mahindra & Mahindra has launched its new compact SUV, Nuvosport at the starting price of INR 7.35 Lakhs and goes up to INR 9.76 Lakhs (both ex-showroom, Thane). Based on the company's third generation platform, it is available in six different variants namely N4, N4+, N6, N6 AMT, N8 and N8 AMT and six color option red, orange, blue, silver, white, and black.
Mechanically, it comes with a 1.5-litre three cylinder mHawk diesel engine along with two different driving modes viz. Power and Economy. By selecting power mode, the motor will produce 100 Bhp of power at 3,750 rpm and 240 Nm of torque between 1,600 rpm to 2,800 rpm. On the other hand, with economy mode, engine is tuned to belt out 73 Bhp of power at 3,250 rpm and 180 nm of torque amid the range of 1,600 rpm to 2,100 rpm. A five-speed manual gearbox is mated with the engine as well as AMT option has also been offered.
Designed as a facelift Quanto, as the name implies Nuvosport means the new sporty SUV that gets a lot more sporty and aggressive contemporary SUV look along with a number of styling. It includes new front fascia that comprises a massive bumper, hood scoop, a grille flanked by new head-lamps, round foglamps, and LED DRLs. Moreover, it is sitting on the 16-inches tyres.
Inside the cabin, it features classy black and grey interior, 6.2-inches touchscreen infotainment system and also has an option of reclining second row seats, which comes first time in SUV. It is available in 5+2 seater option.
Mahindra has offered dual airbags and ABS with EBD technology as options in the base variants and standard attachments in the top versions.
Mahindra Nuvosport was designed and developed in-house, but the other processes like research and development was conducted at the Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai.
