Previously, Zoomcar and Mahindra came forward and started collaboratively to provide Mahindra e2oPlus self-driving EV in Hyderabad, Jaipur, and Mysore around November 2017. In November 2017, it is declared by NITI Aayog to establish 135 charging stations at the Gurugram-Indira Gandhi International Airport South Delhi-Noida corridor in order to reduce the range anxiety issues which support EVs in the country. The 100 new addition of these e20Plus cars can utilize the newly developed infrastructure well.
In March 2018, Ola also started electric cabs in Nagpur but due to the discomfort informed by the drivers regarding long charging durations and limited range, they decided to move back to diesel-powered cars.
In addition to employing EVs in the Zoomcar fleet, Mahindra also launched electric hatchback, the e20 Plus as well as Zoomcar’s ZAP services. With the Zoomcar ownership, now one can lease the ownership for a month at Rs. 15,000 per month.
