Mahindra S101 is yet again making headlines! This time it's not about the official name, but the image of the vehicle. The automaker has recently teased the image of the much awaited SUV. However, it still mentions the codename on the teaser, rather than its official name. As of now, we are stuck between XUV100 and KUV100 that could be the probable names. But there is a good news! The company is finally going to announce the name on 18th December. Considering all the hubbub going on lately, people are more curious about its name rather than the features. Wink!
The vehicle will be a compact one and will be based on monocoque platform. Moreover, it will be the most affordable product in the Mahindra lineup with a front wheel drive setup. Because of the ban on diesel model exceeding 2,000cc, the company is bearing a great loss. As a result, the upcoming S101 will be rolled out keeping in mind the new norms. Apart from a 3-cylinder diesel motor, an all new petrol engine will also be developed for the SUV mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
As per the reports by Rush Lane, the S101 is going to be promoted by the rising star of Bollywood, Varun Dhawan. It also suggests that Varun will be a part of its TV commercial that will be directed by Zoya Akhtar, whose famous works include movies like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Dil Dhadakne Do. Earlier, Mahindra TUV300 was also promoted by Baahubali fame Prabhas, seen in a typical action sequence, shot for the commercial.
