Mahindra's upcoming model S101 has been one of the most talked about model of the year not only because of its anticipated features but also because of its official name that still remains unconfirmed. Though some reports hint that it might be named Mahindra XUV100, let's not go to that lane. The breaking news is that this vehicle has been spied while an ad shoot was going on in Mumbai. As the launch is scheduled to take place in January, the automaker is apparently busy in preparing promotional videos and TV commercials.

There has been a never ending series of spy shots, but unfortunately the official images have still not been disclosed. Seen I these images revealed, one can clearly find features like multi-spoke alloy wheels, use of black colored plastic material for wheel arches and lower bumper portions, a hint of silver at the rear, roof rails, rear spoiler and Door handles borrowed from Chevrolet Beat. The interior has not been disclosed, but it is believed to carry fitments like steering mounted audio controls, music system with Bluetooth and AUX.
Moving on to the mechanical specs, it might be available with a petrol as well as a diesel engine consisting of a 1.2 litre unit. Transmission will be handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox along with an optional automatic facility. Safety will be ensured by notable fitments like ABS, EBD, EPS and dual front airbags. It is being hoped that the all new Mahindra S101 will carry the lowest price tag in Mahindra's lineup.
