Ahead of its launch, Maruti's Nexus outlets have already commenced taking orders for its new Maruti Suzuki Baleno at a token amount of INR 25000. This Baleno will be rolled out on the Indian roads on 26 October, 2015 and will be the third model which is to be sold at the Nexus dealership after Maruti's S-Cross and Ciaz. This vehicle will get a dreadful challenge from Honda Jazz, Hyundai Elite i20 and Volkswagen Polo.

The company has officially confirmed that it will be introduced in diesel as well as petrol versions. Under the hood, the former one will be capable of producing 90bhp of power along with a peak torque of 118Nm via 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine. The latter one will be powered by a 1.2-litre Multijet petrol engine that produces a maximum power of 89bhp and a peak torque of 200Nm. Both the engines will be clubbed with a five-speed manual gearbox as a standard, while the petrol version will have one more choice i.e CVT(continuous variable transmission) gearbox on the ‘Delta’ variant. After the launch of this model, the carmaker might introduce SHVS mild hybrid technology on diesel variant.
On the outset, this hatch will stand on 16-inch wheels and also includes, daytime running lamps, LED taillights, etc. Coming to the interior, the vehicle will be equipped with a number of features like, automatic climate control, Apple CarPlay's 7-inch SmartPlay infotainment system (first-in-segment), 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation system, power folding mirrors, etc. For the safety equipments, it will have reverse parking sensor, dual airbags, Automatic Braking System (ABS), EBD and much more.

Dimension wise, it measures 3,995 mm long, 1,500 mm tall and 1,745 mm wide along with a wheelbase of 2,520 mm. Ground clearance of this model is 180 mm. It is likely to be sold at the price varying from INR. 6 Lakh to 9 Lakh. The automakers will launch this hatchback in four variants which will be available in seven colors.
