Maruti suzuki has introduced a Map Update listed under the “Mapcare” section on its official website. The touchscreen infotainment system which is available with its major cars is now offering a map update for free that allows more enjoyable driving experience. The latest update facilitates the user to drive the car with ease and comfort.
The update can be done by following simple steps as per the automaker. One needs three utilities like original map data SD card, VIN number and serial number of the SMARTPLAY device in order to initiate the updation. The file can be downloaded from the carmakers microsite, which at first verifies the 17-digit serial number and thereafter allows the user to access the file. The steps to be followed, once the verification is done are as follows:
Insert SD Card into the PC, open the info.txt file located in the CRYPTNAV folder;
Enter serial number, allow the download process to continue;
After completion of download, copy the files onto the SD card;
Now, insert the SD Card into the infotainment system.
Presently, the touchscreen infotainment system is available with selective variants of the models such as Baleno, S-Cross, Ertiga and the Vitara Brezza.
