Undoubtedly, Maruti Suzuki has been acquiring a tremendous profit from its Celerio hatchback, which is currently available in petrol variant as well as in petrol trim with AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) system. Now, to bring it at the extreme level of discussion, the manufacturer is launching its diesel variant soon in the Indian market. The company is showing its full dedication in developing an 800 cc diesel engine that will power this upcoming vehicle to produce power of 47 bhp at 3,500 rpm and torque of 125 Nm at 2,000 rpm.
Maruti Suzuki will also offer this self developed mill beneath the skin of its other forthcoming products. Currently, the Swift Dzire (diesel) is the most fuel efficient runabout of this brand that is capable in covering up an appreciable distance of 26 km in just 1 litre of fuel consumption. This record is likely to be beaten by the Celerio diesel, which has been claimed to return an impressive fuel efficiency of 27.62 km/l.
It is expected to be launched on June 3, 2015 with 5-speed manual transmission system, while an AMT variant is likely to be introduced later. Just like its petrol model, the Celerio diesel will also be available in three distinct versions, such as Ldi, Vdi and Zdi.
Coming to the other features, the hatchback will get dual front airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), music system, including Bluetooth connectivity, keyless access, steering mounted controls, front as well as rear power windows, fog lights, rear wiper and washer. Price wise, the car seems to be ranged between INR 4.6 Lac to INR 5.7 Lac.
