Maruti Suzuki Celerio X Details Revealed, Unofficial Bookings Open

From a brochure leak via a Twitter user, Hardik it has been known that the India's largest carmaker Maruti, is all set to roll out a cross-hatch version of its most fuel-efficient hatchback the Celerio. The variant will be entitled as the Celerio X in the market. All the four variant will be offered as an accessorized version of the regular model with an automated transmission.The unofficial bookings for the upcoming at a refundable amount lying between Rs 5000 to Rs 10000 have already been initiated by some dealers.

From the surfaced leak images it has been found that the changes on this special model are majorly cosmetic. The Celerio has now been tweaked to get a more rugged look with the embellishment of features such as redesigned bumper with black cladding between the headlamps and the fog lamps, a new honeycomb pattern grille, black plastic cladding around the sides and wheel arches and new black alloy wheels. Other captivating at the skin includes black roof rails, black finished door handles, and ORVMs.

Interior of the Celerio X is all similar to the standard trim. It will continue to feature attributes such as keyless entry, power windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs, 60:40 split rear seats, steering-mounted audio controls, Bluetooth connectivity, ABS and dual airbags, depending upon the variants.

Beneath the front end, the cross-hatch will come with a 1.0-litre K10-B engine that is rated to produce 68PS of maximum power at 6000rpm along with 90Nm of peak torque at 3500rpm. Power transmission will be handled by options a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox provided in the standard version. Expected to be priced costlier around Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000 over the standard hatchback, the Celerio X will go in competition with the Renault Kwid 1.0 and the Mahindra KUV100.
