In the Indian lineup, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R pricing starts at INR 4.19 lakh and goes up to INR 5.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top of the line variant. Built on an all-new platform, the new Wagon R is continued with the same old tall-boy body language. However, the hatch is now much spacious and better equipped in terms of features.

Under the hood, the Wagon R is being offered with the two petrol-powered engine options. One is the shared unit of the outgoing car, a 1.0-litre engine that is rated to develop 68hp and another is a new 1.2-litre engine borrowed from the Maruti Swift and Maruti suzuki Ignis. This trim is claimed to make out 83hp. The power transmission for both of these trims will be handled either via a 5-speed manual or AMT gearboxes. As per the dealers' sources, the customers are inquiring more for the new 1.2-litre petrol engine trim.
The new Wagon R is available in 7 seven variants to purchase at the Maruti Suzuki's Arena chain of dealerships. In this highly intensified entry-level hatchback segment, it will go in competition with the likes of the Hyundai Santro, the Datsun Go and the Tata Tiago.
