Maruti Suzuki XL6 that is a six-seater MPV has been launched in India at an introductory price sticker of INR 9.80 lakh. Based on ongoing MPV, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, the XL6 is being offered in two variants of Zeta and Alpha. The availability of two individual captain chairs in the middle row is the speciality of the newly launched MPV from Maruti Suzuki.
In terms of design, there is not much difference between the XL6 and the standard Ertiga. However, the new MPV received a host of changes in the form of a large grille with chrome work, new LED headlamp setup, a faux skid plate and a chunkier bumper to restyle the front fascia. At the side profile, the XL6 features all-black 15-inch alloy wheels with mirror caps, plastic side-body cladding and roof rails as well. While the rear is furnished with a restyled bumper with cladding and a faux skid-plate.
In terms of colours, the company offers six options of Brave Khaki, Nexa Blue, Magma Grey, Auburn Red, Arctic White and Premium Silver.
Inside the cabin, the carmaker opted for an all-black theme instead of a beige theme offered in the standard Ertiga.

The onboard features on both XL6 variants consist of LED DRLs, keyless entry with push-button start/stop, automatic climate control, rear air-con vents, cruise control and height-adjustable driver’s seat. In addition to this, the brand equipped the XL6 with its new SmartPlay Studio infotainment unit which encompasses a 7.0-inch touchscreen display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. The features like automatic headlamps and a rear parking camera are additional with the top-spec Alpha variant.
At the safety front, the MPV is blessed with features such as dual front airbags, seat belt reminders for the front row occupants, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, and a speed warning system as well which will remind you with exceeding the speed limit.
In terms of power, the carmaker equipped the XL6 with a similar 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that performs propelling duty on the Ciaz sedan and the standard Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, under the hood. The BS-IV compliant powertrain is rated to develop the maximum power of 105hp along with 138Nm of torque whereas the presence of Maruti’s SHVS mild-hybrid technology ensures better fuel efficiency. The gearbox options on the MPV is a 5-speed manual unit and a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox as well.
The brand has confirmed the availability of the XL6 at its premium range of dealerships, the Nexa not at the Arena dealerships which avail the Ertiga for the buyers. In its segment, the XL6 seeks competition with the likes of the Honda BR-V, the Mahindra Marazzo, and the Hyundai Creta and recently updated Renault Duster in the SUV segment.
