It is carmaker’s second collector edition followed by the 2014 F-Type Project 7. Only 300 units will be produced of this track-focused XE SV and each and every car will be hand-built at SVO technical center in Coventry, England.
Beneath the front end, the XE SV breaths via a 5.0-litre Supercharged V8 motor, the same with does duty in the Project 7. However, this time the engine has been tuned to produce an unmatched power of 600 hp - around 24 hp more than the aforementioned F-Type.
Unlike the rear-wheel drive from Project 7, the XE SV Project 8 features all-wheel drive system. Transmission duties are handled by a specially tuned 8-Speed ZF automatic gearbox.
The engineers at Jaguar claims that the XE SV is capable enough to beat the current record of 3.8 seconds for 0-100 kmph sprint, which is maintained by the company’s most accelerative vehicle, the all-wheel-drive F-Type SVR on road till now.
John Edwards, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations said, “The time is right for SVO to produce the most extreme performance road car in the history of Jaguar. The SVO team is possessed by the spirit of performance and committed to creating the most thrilling driving experience imaginable. Our clients worldwide were thrilled by the F-TYPE Project 7. The new XE SV Project 8 takes aerodynamics and performance engineering to another level – it is conceived for enthusiasts and the most discerning collectors. The price for such an extreme performance sports car available in strictly limited numbers will reflect that.”
