Although the Indian Government has already reverted the implementation of diesel ban above 2000 cc engine, the German auto giant Mercedes-Benz is still offering a petrol version across its lineup to keep up the promise made earlier. Well, the automaker has already started launching its range with petrol trim and the first lucky model is GLE 4Matic. Available at the price of INR 74.90 Lakhs (Ex-showroom), it has come up with more or less features like its diesel unit.
On the mechanical front, Mercedes-Benz GLE 4Matic comes with a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine that is tuned to fire out 328.5 Bhp of power at 5250-6000 rpm and 480 Nm of massive torque at 1600-4000 rpm. Further, the engine is mated to a 7G-Tronic Plus gearbox to dispatch the power at all the corners with the help of 4Matic AWD system. Having this arrangement, the beast can hit the maximum speed up to 247 kmph. Moreover, five different driving modes are also there namely Comfort, Sport, Slippery, Individual and Off-Road.

With the launch of the GLE 400 4MATIC, our discerning customers will now have the option of choosing between the petrol and the diesel version of our highest selling SUV. The GLE has been the highest selling SUV ever and with a growing penchant for SUVs among customers, we believe the introduction of the petrol version will further bolster our presence in the luxury SUV segment. For the first time, we are introducing the GLE with a petrol mill and this underscores our strategy of offering the right product for our growing customer base. This is the fourth SUV we have introduced this year and with this variant, we now offer our bestselling SUV in four different options, GLE 250 d, GLE 350 d, GLE 400 and the dynamic GLE 450 AMG Coupe.”
In terms of features, it has got full LED support headlights with intelligent light function, LED tail lamps, sunroof, Active Parking Assists integrated with 360-degree camera, etc. Moving inside the cabin, it houses Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround audio system, 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, and COMAND Online with latest Generation Telematics. For safety, it is equipped with features like six airbags, attention assists, crosswind assists, brake assists and active parking assists.
